Why only 35+?

Like many, I was not a planned baby as my mother already had four children and was almost 40 years old. Her youngest at the time was almost 10, and now she had a new baby in the house.

Back then, it was not common to have an older mom, and while it was awkward at times, the wisdom gained from a mother with more life experience was invaluable.

When my turn came to become a mom, I never imagined that I too would be 35+ as a new mom, however, I’m happy things turned out the way they did, and being on this side of the experience has shaped my way of looking at motherhood.

For this series, it’s very important to me to create a tribe of moms that is close in age and who are at the same milestone in this journey—something that is benefitted from greatly when we have babies, because after all, as they say, “It takes a village!”
